So newlywed-typical. #justmarried #sanderlins #mrandmrs #adorbs
OH, HEY. Long time, right?
Now that things have finally slowed down, I can find some time for blogging again. I’m sure I could have made time before, but it really was the last thing on my list of things to do.
We found out shortly before Brandi had Micah that grandpa’s throat cancer came back. Brandi hadn’t even left the hospital before he was admitted to the ICU due to his airway being blocked by inflamed tissue. Two days later, he was on the table for a full laryngectomy. It’s sad not being able to hear his voice anymore. A month later, he was told that the surgery wasn’t enough and he had to start chemo. In the midst of all this, my mom needed lots of help out at home. Since Reace, Brandi, Trev, and I moved back in, that wasn’t hard for her to get! Although, it was super hard to stay grounded in “bride mode.” I had to force myself to be happy and excited when I was so distraught about grandpa. Not to mention I was hired at a new job just two weeks before the wedding. I know; crazy, right?!
But everything fell into place perfectly, just in time for the wedding.
THE WEDDING, guys, OH MY GOSH.
The ceremony was my favorite. I got a lot of comments about the music; how it fit the timing and mood so perfectly. DUH, because I absolutely obsessed over it! Music sets the tone for everything! All four of my parents were a part of my trip down the aisle, which was super special. Trev and I personalized our vows, did a sand ceremony, and took communion as our “first act.” It was absolutely perfect. I know, every bride says that about their wedding. And I also know that every bride says how fast it goes AND IT DID. I had a little bit of post wedding letdown. I mean, seriously; two years of planning and the next thing you know, you’re getting in the limo after your Grand Exit. It was the perfect example of “bittersweet.” I was so happy to finally be married to my best friend, but I wanted to stay and party and continue to soak up the sparkly magic of the day. And believe it or not, I almost cried taking off my dress, despite my discomfort, because I knew I would never wear it again. Because let’s be real, my dress is WAY too fabulous to “trash.”
Our honeymoon was just right. You don’t need a fancy getaway to feel like a honeymooner! Pacific Beach is a place I hold very near and dear to my heart. And honestly, the last thing I wanted to do after my wedding is fly overseas into a different country. Just, TOO much. And I’d rather not start a marriage off low on money because we spent too much on a honeymoon. We will go to Hawaii or St. Lucia in a couple of years!
I think I’ve gotten mostly everything down. I’d like to point out the GIF I chose for this post. It’s exactly how I felt during our first dance: like a princess with my prince charming. Sure the room was full of 200 people, but I didn’t notice.

My grandpa found out his throat cancer is back after four years, which was 95% unlikely to reoccur. But you wouldn’t guess that judging by his smile and humor, would you? Seriously, he is the strongest man I know. #effyoucancer #gramps #strong
Morning snuggles with my hubby and duh bubs. I know, I’m obsessed with how adorable my dogs are. #doggy #doglover #forlife #goodmorning
My patriotic little nephew! So sad I’m not in Virginia spending this special day with my brother and his family, who have shown such courage for our country. Our freedom and independence do not come free! God Bless America, our home sweet home! #freedom #happybirthdayAmerica #red #white #blue
